DAVID L. HANBERG - AIR CANADA PILOT
ATP - FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR AIRPLANE AND SIMULATOR
David started his aviation career in 2007 with a Private Pilot’s license from Camrose Flight Center at the age of 17. With a Commercial Multi IFR and float endorsement on his license to completed the Flight Instructor rating in the fall of 2000 at the age of 21.
In the spring of 2001 with 280 hours, Kenn Borek Air hired David as a First Officer on the Twin Otter. He was sent to the Indian Ocean to fly tourists to island destinations on floats in the Republic of the Maldives. Over the next six years Kenn Borek Air would send David to fly on five continents, including five tours of 4 months in Antarctica, North and South Geographic Poles, ferry flights through Central America, South America, Europe and Africa. He would operate the Twin Otter as a First Officer and Captain in some of the most challenging flying conditions in the Canadian North. In addition to his flying duties, in 2005 David became a Twin Otter Training Captain. This included initial ground school instruction, flight training and line indoctrination.
On January 1st 2007, David accepted a position with Air Sprint based in Calgary Alberta as a Captain on the Cessna Citation Excel. Air Sprint is a fractional ownership company that transports high net worth individuals around North America.
On December 3rd 2007, David was offered a position with Air Canada as a First Officer on the Embraer 190. After completing a year of flying as a line pilot on the Embraer, he accepted a position in the Flight Operations Training Department as a Temporary Supervisor and Aircraft Flight Instructor on the Embraer. David is a Transport Canada approved simulator instructor who teaches Air Canada pilots.
David occasionally contracts his services to Shell Oil based in Calgary as a pilot on the Embraer 175. He also volunteers his time to local schools educating students on aviation and career opportunities.
PETER RILEY HANBERG - STUDENT
Pictured to the left is Peter after his 1st Solo Flight with Camrose Flight Center on 21 June 2010. Peter became a licensed Private Pilot in September 2010. He continues to build hours which helps to prepare him for a Commercial Licence while attending University.
In 2011 Peter will continue flight training getting his Commercial Pilots License, Night and Multi-Engine Rating. Also, if time permits this year Peter will start training on his Instrument Rating and Float Endorsement.
